Problem, a social change song and video, is a deeply personal commentary on and criticism of injustice. It goes beyond the black/white binary to also address issues that impact women and other historically marginalized people. It is based on current events and draws parallels to near-identical historical events.
Kwanza Jones created this musical PSA as a lead up to the 2020 Presidential elections. It was released on July 4th, Independence Day in the USA -- a day that, according to African American abolitionist Frederick Douglass, revealed to the American enslaved people "the gross injustice and cruelty to which he is the constant victim."
