• A few weeks ago, I celebrated the topping-off ceremony of our new SUPERCHARGED office building in Santa Monica. When I think about all the challenges we overcame and the seven years it took for this project to get to this point, I feel overwhelmed with gratitude. Although the project isn’t complete, it’s important to celebrate wins and milestones along the way to success. After completion, the building will provide a space for all members of the Kwanzaverse to collaborate and connect, powering possibilities that will boost humanity and its future.

• I had a full circle moment at the 90th anniversary Apollo Spring Benefit earlier this month when I presented the Legacy Award alongside Fat Joe to Babyface. The Apollo Theater is a significant part of my story. While growing up, my father always took me and my siblings there. In the 90s, I performed and was one of the winners of Amateur Night. Today, I’m on the board of The Apollo. It’s been such an incredible journey, that’s why I supported this year’s event as the Premier Sponsor. It was a way of saying “thank you” to a space and place that created, and continues to create, opportunities for a diversity of voices to be heard, and conversations to continue.

• I get motivated when I see organizations like Next Legacy Partners, a venture capital and private equity firm, working to create a positive impact on the world by providing access to venture capital.
