Don’t wait for tomorrow. It’s “Time To Go!”
Hey Love,
Have you ever had the alarm go off and the first thing you did was hit the snooze button? As we dive deeper into the second half of the year, it’s important to connect with yourself and make sure you’re not hitting the snooze button on your life. It’s good to be comfortable, but you can’t maintain greatness by staying in your comfort zone. Now is the time to wake up! You need to take action to keep moving forward. That’s the only way you can make progress.
Tell yourself it’s time to go. Then get up, get out, and go! Here’s a motivational boost for you 👇.
Whether it’s dedicating a few minutes each day to your project, making a daily effort to network, or setting aside time for personal growth, these small actions compound to create significant progress.
In the Kwanzaverse, we’re always taking small steps forward towards progress and the last few weeks have been nothing short of productive. Want to know what I’m talking about? Let’s dive into the updates.
- As you know, I boost humans and humanity through culture, community, and capital. That’s why I’m so excited to welcome over 40 new nsoro scholars from the nsoro Foundation into the Kwanza Jones Boost Friends™ Community. These scholars will be able to boost, build, and bond with existing scholars and like-minded individuals within the community. Like other members, they’ll also receive weekly boosts, accountability check-ins, and much more! If you’re a member, sign in here to check out what we’ve been up to.
- Did you know that children from low-income communities – who are disproportionately Black and Latino – fare far worse than their higher-income peers due to lack of access to early education, quality teachers, and other necessary support? In order to bridge this gap, I came together with Brett Brewer and Brian Lee to form LA Tech Cares in 2020. Since then, Nick Kim has joined the team and we’ve partnered with different nonprofits every year to support various aspects of education for underserved students in California. This year, we’re partnering with EdVoice, a nonprofit reshaping public education in California by changing state policy so that children from low-income communities receive high-quality education. Join us. Let’s create impact together.

- A few weeks ago, my Teamily volunteered for a beach cleanup at Santa Monica Pier with The Surfrider Foundation USA. They are an organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves, and beaches, for all people, through a powerful activist network. Surfrider beach cleanups serve to raise awareness about the trash & litter problem confronting our waterways. Check out their website if you want to learn more or get involved.
- Over 12 years ago, I released a song titled, “Time to Go,” because I understand that taking the first step can be the most difficult part of turning dreams into reality. Many people procrastinate or find reasons not to take that initial step. So, I’m here to remind you that it’s time to get moving. As you follow the previous steps I provided on how to make progress, here’s a music boost to keep the energy going — “Time to go.”
And that’s all for the highlights! Before I go, here’s something I want you to think about: Dreams are the seeds of our future, but without action, they remain just that—dreams. If you want to turn them into reality, you have to take deliberate steps towards your goals. Every action, no matter how small, is a step forward. It’s time to stop waiting for the perfect moment and start creating it.
Until next time.
Who loves you? I do!
