2025 year in review

Hey Love,

It’s incredible how much has changed since the start of 2025. I spent the last 365 days asking, “What comes next?” And even as the answers shifted, the effects of the journey remained world-boosting.

This year reminded us that true power isn’t about control, but about choice...the choice to move forward even when the world tries to pull you back. The LA fires hit our communities hard, but we faced them together and came out stronger.

We chose to channel our energy with intention and move forward, so we kept our legacy in motion. Every step opened new paths for connection, access, and opportunity. And through it all, we built places, spaces, bridges, partnerships, and moments, designed to outlast the now. Even when others tried to tear things down, we chose to, and will continue to build. Because that's what we do.

As we close the book on 2025, I'm already charting the course for next year, keeping the culture in motion and advancing legacy for generations to come. I can't wait to share the updates with you! But until then, I invite you to take a look at my year in review.

    March

    Equity In Action

    The Teamily volunteered with TreePeople, an organization working to bring trees, shade, and green spaces to communities historically left out. It wasn’t just about caring for trees. It was about equity and action. In one day, the Teamily helped care for 77 trees where they’re needed most.

    Giving back is empowering. It’s a catalyst that boosts every community. That’s why José, MBA ’99, and I joined with other Board of Trustees members to create a matching fund for Stanford Day of Giving.

    At the 2025 Apollo Spring Benefit, I had the honor of introducing the first-ever “Innovator Award,” celebrating artists who are breaking boundaries and shaping culture across disciplines. Together with fashion icon Dapper Dan and actress-comedian Sherri Shepherd, the award was presented to Teyana Taylor.

    My Teamily and I celebrated the soft launch of our new space! It marked the opening of doors to community, collaboration, positivity, and opportunities. It was a defining moment in the legacy José and I are building and a stepping stone for more to come.

    Bold ideas deserve bold backing. That’s why José and I partnered with Series X Capital. They support companies from Alphabet’s Moonshot Factory that are creating tech which empowers communities, drives equity, and sparks entrepreneurship. That’s the kind of innovation we’re proud to power.

    Service Is What We Do

    Through Project Ropa, my Teamily assembled 651 hygiene kits and nearly 200 laundry kits to distribute to those in need in the Los Angeles area. Every kit was packed with essentials and handwritten notes filled with encouragement and love. We also donated supplies to make an additional 1800 laundry kits.

    Impact With Intention

    Impact is most powerful when it’s shared. That’s why my Teamily worked alongside community members in an assembly line to distribute fresh fruits and vegetables to local Angelenos in need. This was done in partnership with Produce in the Park, a free weekly food distribution initiative.

    My Teamily and I released a new holiday song titled “Our Company Holiday Song,” a soundtrack designed to unite teams and ignite company end-of-year celebrations. It’s now available on all streaming platforms.

    Investing in People

    We partnered with ONEgeneration to deliver a high-impact volunteer activation, strengthening their ability to address immediate community needs around food access. Through the expansion of ONEgeneration’s operational capacity and hands-on service, as well as the assembling of Kindness Kits and free food distribution, we directly supported seniors and low-income families across the San Fernando Valley.

    José and I donated to Paid In Full Foundation, an organization on a mission to support great artists who have made huge contributions to society, but haven’t been rewarded justly. They honor Hip Hop legends who, historically, did not receive proper monetary recognition for their contributions to music.

    My Teamily volunteered at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, assembling playhouses to support Habitat LA’s home preservation program. José and I also elevated that impact with a donation that will help provide 1-3 households with essential health and safety repairs. Together, we grow!

    José and I partnered with Authentic Ventures, a seed and early-stage venture capital firm with a particular interest in women and minority founders who are solving hard problems. They use their diverse network of talents to help their partners succeed.
