Press Release . July 1, 2022
Artist, philanthropist, entrepreneur and multimillion-dollar impact investor Kwanza Jones donates $30,000 along with the release of her new inspiring song and music video titled “Queen Moves Only, Mother’s Day Mix” honoring all women and everyone who identifies as a queen.
The Billboard charting artist, Kwanza Jones uses her music and art for social change and empowerment. “I create music and content to help motivate, empower and inspire. I use video as my canvas and create art for social change,” said Jones.
After the release of her single, Jones announced a donation of $30,000 to three organizations that are taking action to make a positive impact in the world. Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project (WRRAP) and Girls Inc. are organizations that empower women. PFLAG is an organization that offers support to the families of the LGBTQ+ community. These organizations were the beneficiaries of the donation and received $10,000 each.
The donation was made to organizations that best align with the mission and message behind the Queen Moves Only, Mother’s Day Mix. It empowers them to reach out to more people and create a community of support for those who need it.
“Money is the easy part. Creating a community, making connections, and doing the hard work are the important things that lead to real change,” said Jones.
While the music video was released on Mother’s Day, “The Queen Moves Only, Mother’s Day Mix is not just about honoring mothers on Mother’s Day. It’s about honoring all women, all mother figures, and all queens all the time,” said Jones.
Given Jones’ background as a nine-time and top 10 Billboard charting dance music artist, it’s no surprise that her new track leaves you filled with energy and confidence.
Jones is the founder and CEO of SUPERCHARGED® by Kwanza Jones, a media company that produces inspiring, motivational content coupled with an impact-oriented community. The company’s foundation is built on the fact that no one succeeds alone – sometimes you need a boost.
Jones is also the co-founder and CEO of the Kwanza Jones & José E. Feliciano Initiative (KJJF), the organization behind the $30,000 donation. KJJF is a philanthropic grantmaking and impact investment organization that invests in both nonprofits and for-profits while focusing on the areas of education, entrepreneurship, equity, and empowerment. KJJF and affiliates have committed more than $100 million to education initiatives, diverse founders and fund managers. Through KJJF, Jones invests intentionally, but not exclusively, in women and people of color. “Queen Moves Only, Mother’s Day Mix is not just about being a queen. It’s about making the moves. That’s the key thing,” said Jones. “So thank you for doing absolutely everything that you do. Because, when I say ‘Queens raise Kings and Queens, and Kings raise Queens and Kings. They elevate everything,’ I want to say thank you for doing that.”
