Got a sec? Someone deserves your thanks
Hey Love,
I’ve got a question for you. Who’s got your back? Who are the people who support you, uplift you, and walk with you? For me, this month is about honoring them. The ones who show up, not just with words, but with actions. Those who stand by us when things get tough. The boost friends™ who help us see our worth, remind us of our power, and push us to grow into something even greater.
Now’s a good time to check in and say thank you. It might be a text, a call, or simply showing up for them. You can also honor them by showing up and boosting others, just like they did for you. Why does that matter? I explained it in the video below:
The journey is meaningful because of the people who pour into us. So, ask yourself: Who’s helped you push through? Who’s held space for your growth, your truth, your transformation? And just as importantly—who can you be that person for?
That’s what this edition of the Kwanza Jones Chronicles is all about: Honoring mothers, mentors, and everyone who has poured into us. More importantly, it’s about how we can empower others and rise together, because no one succeeds alone. Ready? Let’s go!
- Gratitude is powerful. But turning it into action? That’s on a whole new level! One of the most powerful ways to do that is to invest in what you believe in. A few weeks ago, my Teamily published an article on the Kwanza Jones & José E. Feliciano Initiative blog exploring values-based investing. It’s a strategy that aligns your resources with your purpose, beyond just financial gains. It’s about making intentional choices that uplift communities, support equity, and help others rise. - Mothers raise Queens. They raise Kings. They raise the world. They elevate everything. In 2022, I released a song and music video titled, “Queen Moves Only (Mother’s Day Mix)” in honor of all women, mother figures, and those who lead with strength, compassion, and intention. It was a reminder that real power isn’t always loud, it can be nurturing, resilient, and rooted in community. So whether you’re celebrating someone who’s poured into you or recognizing your own journey as a builder, nurturer, or boost friend, this music boost is for you.
- Did you know the Kwanza Jones & José E. Feliciano Initiative is now live on Instagram? The space reflects how we create lasting impact through education, entrepreneurship, equity, and empowerment. It’s where we celebrate progress, spark conversation, and share ideas that are shaping the future. Want to see what happens when vision meets action? Follow us @jonesfelicianoinitiative.
- Two years ago, the Teamily volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles. We built three playhouses, each of which was donated to a local family. Through Habitat LA’s Playhouse Build Program, we created safe, imaginative spaces for kids while supporting the larger mission of building community and spreading joy. These weren’t just fun, creative spaces for kids, they were symbols of care, connection, and community. It was a reminder that even small structures can have a big impact.

Whether it’s a mentor, a mother figure, a teammate, or a community of quiet supporters…someone helped you rise. Now it’s your turn to lift others. You don’t need a spotlight or a big platform. You just need intention, a kind word, a shared resource, a moment of your time. Because we all rise together.

Bye for now,
Upcoming: We’re almost halfway through the year. It’s the perfect time to pause, reflect, and reset. In the next edition of the Kwanza Jones Chronicles, we’ll explore how building resilience can help us overcome challenges and keep moving forward…even when the road gets tough. Stay tuned.
