supercharged legacy

Love, Legacy, and the SUPERCHARGED Life

A lot has happened since the last issue of the Kwanza Jones Chronicles. February was filled with lots of love as well as some unexpected and hard hitting losses. March, being Women’s History Month, commemorates the work done by all the Queens that came before us.

When I reflect on the impact of the individual and collective work done by the Queens of the past, my resolve to Boost A Billion Lives is reinforced. This unwavering passion to create impact is the lifeblood of my existence, and serving humanity is my love language. It boosts me with the energy I need to create change. However, no one ever succeeds alone. We owe our successes to the foundation that was set by those who came before us. Knowing this, what are you doing to make sure that those who come after you will have an even better and stronger foundation? Listen to this:

Ready to check out the Kwanza Jones Chronicles highlights for this Women’s History Month? Let’s get into it.

  • Queens uplift Queens. When I see an opportunity to ignite change and power possibilities, I take action. In keeping with my ongoing commitment to advancing HBCUs (historically Black colleges and universities), I invited senior administrators and students from Bennett College and Spelman College (the only all-women HBCUs) to bond over a 3-day New York City experience. This included being my special guests at The Apollo Theater, “Dining with the Divas” luncheon and more. Throughout their time together, they had the opportunity to build new connections with one another and a community of women who are accomplished leaders, mentors, and change-makers.

  • If you’ve been keeping up with the Kwanza Jones Chronicles, you must have heard me use the phrase “Queen Moves Only.” In case you’re wondering, “Queen Moves Only” is not bound by gender; as long as you are creating a positive impact and bringing others along with you, that’s what it means to make Queen Moves Only. It also happens to be a song that can motivate you to make powerful moves. Check it out here!

  • Years ago, I embarked on a journey up the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. During my climb, I got so inspired that I decided to video some of the lessons that came to me while I was on this journey. Recently, my team turned these lessons into a blog article, providing insights on the keys to success. Click here to read the article.
  • For this Women’s History Month, I’m highlighting the two powerful women behind Inspired Capital – Alexa von Tobel and Penny Pritzker. Their mission to back fearless founders who are solving the hardest challenges facing humanity is creating waves in the venture capital space. They are fearless and are not afraid to venture forward.

Although the end of March marks the end of Women’s History Month, the impact of our Queens, past and present, will continue to resonate across families, communities, and this great nation. So, it’s important to honor their legacy beyond the celebration through action. The result of your action has the potential to propel you toward a brighter future and inscribe your story in the memories of future generations.
