Day 3: Work Together
Ready to start the challenge for Day 4? Read more here.
Hey #BoostFriends! It’s Day 3 of 7 Days of Kwanza and today I challenge you to find ways to #WorkTogether towards a common goal.
We saw communities of people come together this summer to demand change. Even when things are no longer in the headlines, we must remember that the work still continues. One way that I have committed to making a difference is through donating to the causes I care about the most.
This year I, along with my partner in business and life, pledged $20 Million to make Princeton a better, more inclusive place for other Black and Brown people.
I also co-founded the LA Tech Cares initiative to help our city’s most underserved students get the access to technology they need.
These are not things that I did alone. My #BoostFriends and I worked together towards these common goals.
Here are 3 ways that you can come together with others and make small, but meaningful change:
#1 Use Your Time
Become a real social media influencer. Not the kind that takes selfies all day. Instead, use your time to spread the word about the causes you care about. Tag and share those organizations with your Boost Friends, so they can in turn share it with theirs.
#2 Use Your Treasure
You don’t have to have millions of dollars to make a change. Pick a cause and make a small monetary donation. Sign up for events that support a specific organization. Go one step further, and get your Boost Friends to do it with you.
#3 Use Your talent
Many organizations are in need of extra help. If you don't have the funds to spare, then offer your skills and experience instead. Work together with an organization that you care about and help them accomplish their mission.
One way I use my talent is to create music that uplifts people. Check out my Christmas Album here.
Put It Into Practice
If you are looking for a fun way to use your talents and knock this challenge off your list, then sign up to help me create the music video for my Holiday track “Christmas with Friends”.
My goal is to create something that will bring people together and give them a reason to smile. This video will 100% be a collective effort and I’m counting on you to help me get it done!
